What’s the name of your business/employer/university? British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC)
How old were you when you were diagnosed dyslexic? 8/9
What difference has finding out made? Not a great deal but the understanding was better
Which do you prefer: I am dyslexic, or I have Dyslexia? I am Dyslexic
What three words would you use to describe yourself? Confident – workaholic – organised
What 3 words would your friends and family choose to describe you? Enthusiastic – hardworking – energetic
What is your best/proudest YES! moment? Getting a staff Job with the Beeb –(BBC) having been freelance in my industry for over 20 years
If you could have one gadget, piece of equipment or software for free – what would it be, and why? The latest MacBook Pro laptop
If you had the day off to do anything at all – what would you do? Chill at home watch tv and eat nice food
Who on the planet inspires you the most? Billy Connolly – Steph fry
Did you like School? 1 = not at all and 10 = loved it: 6
What did you like most about school? Interaction with other pupils and teachers
Who was your favourite teacher and why? Mr Henry – strict but fair and he did the subject I was better at
If you could go back in time, what one piece of advice would you offer to your younger school-aged self, and what age would that be? Keep doing what you’re doing, when you want it go for it and you’ll make some good choices
Are you glad you went for your dyslexia assessment? It’s wasn’t an assessment back then – that I was aware of
Is there anything you wish someone had told you before you went for your assessment? Not really
If you could go back in time what message would you give to your 13-year-old self? Don’t light the meth burner in your chemistry set but the kitchen curtain – spend ever second you can with your mom
Do you have any advice for anyone who has just been diagnosed dyslexic? Use the skills you excel at to define you
