Technology rocks!

This morning I delivered some Read&Write Gold training, a programme/software created by TextHELP UK.

This gentleman’s employers purchased the Read&Write Gold USB mobile version of the software for him to use for work, as it had been recommended to them, they then drafted me in to train him how to use it.

So impressed with the software and its functions he could see ways that it could help him, not only in at work but also in his personal life too! Being on a USB stick it means that the programme is mobile and he will be able to use it for both!

This afternoon, I saw another client who had previously had Read&Write Gold training, and in today’s session we practiced the reading functions and also introduced how to input a ‘voice note’ to a Word document, and how to use the speech input feature. This client never looks at his e-mails, let alone replies to any of them. But this afternoon, not only did he reply to an email he did so by using the speech to text function of Read&Write Gold and also attached a word document with a voice note, for the lovely lady at his employers Equality & Diversity department who he usually spoke to on the phone.

So impressed by this feature he has taken me up on my offer to borrow my spare headset, so that he can practice using the speech to text feature between now and next week, when I see him again.

Days like today, when technology works, when clients see a use for products that can save them time, stress and allow them to be productive and feel worthwhile, makes what I do so very worthwhile.
